This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the Noteshelf mobile application and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, and protecting that information.

2. Offline-First Data Storage

Noteshelf operates on a strict offline-first architecture:

• All notebooks, pages, drawings, handwriting strokes, text blocks, checklists, and tags created in the app are stored exclusively on your device's local Room internal database.
• We do not upload, backup, or synchronize your personal notes, sketches, or attachments to any external server managed by us.
• You retain full ownership and control over your data at all times.

3. Application Permissions

Noteshelf requests only the minimal system permissions required for application functionality and user experience. The exact permissions used in the application and their purposes are:

Permission	Purpose
android.permission.INTERNET	Required to fetch advertisements via Google AdMob, check for app updates via Google Play, receive push notifications via OneSignal, and perform remote app maintenance status checks.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE	Used to verify active network connectivity before requesting advertisements, push notifications, or status updates.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Required on Android 13 (API level 33) and higher to display note reminders, task alerts, and app updates to the user.

4. Third-Party Integrations

The application integrates third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) and services to deliver ads, notifications, and app update management. Each provider collects and processes data according to its own privacy policy:

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) & User Messaging Platform (UMP)
  Purpose: Serves advertisements (App Open, Native, Banner, and Interstitial ads) and manages user consent for privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
  Data Collected: Advertising ID, IP address, device specs, and ad interaction metrics.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all your note content is stored locally on your device:

• Deleting a note, page, or notebook within the app permanently removes it from your device storage.
• Uninstalling the Noteshelf application will permanently delete all locally stored app data and database content from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
