Privacy Policy for Savings Monitor

Welcome to Savings Monitor. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how your information is handled when you use our mobile application (the "App").

1. Personal & Financial Data Privacy (Offline-First)

Savings Monitor allows users to set savings targets and record local financial transactions.

• Local Device Storage: All user-entered data—including goal names, target amounts, initial deposits, transaction categories, dates, and notes—is stored exclusively on your device in a private, sandboxed SQLite database using Android's Room Persistence Library.
• No External Transmission: We do not collect, transmit, share, or store your financial ledger or personal account information on remote databases.

2. Data Backups & Storage Access Framework

If you choose to export or restore a backup of your savings data (JSON or CSV format), the App uses Android's official Storage Access Framework (SAF).

• Backup files are saved directly to the location you choose on your device or linked cloud drive (e.g., Google Drive).
• We do not have access to your exported backup files.

3. Third-Party Services & SDK Disclosures

In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies, Savings Monitor uses trusted third-party SDKs to serve advertisements and deliver optional push notifications. These SDKs may collect diagnostic and device identifiers as described below:

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to display advertisements (banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads). AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID), IP addresses, performance logs, and interaction data for ad serving, analytics, and fraud prevention.

• OneSignal: Used to deliver push notifications (such as system maintenance alerts or feature announcements). OneSignal processes device tokens, IP addresses, and basic device metrics for notification routing.

4. Android Device Permissions

Savings Monitor requests only the minimum permissions necessary for app operation:

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Allows the App to receive and display push notifications sent via OneSignal. Users can grant or revoke this permission at any time in System Settings.
• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required for loading AdMob ads, initializing OneSignal, and performing secure HTTPS checks for system maintenance status.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)

Savings Monitor is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain European jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.

6. Data Retention, Control & Deletion

Since your financial records are stored entirely on your local device:

• Deletion within App: You can edit or delete goals and transaction records directly in the App at any time.
• Complete Data Erasure: Clearing App Storage/Data in Android System Settings or uninstalling the App immediately and permanently erases all locally stored data.

7. Security

We prioritize user security. All external HTTP requests (such as status checks and ad requests) strictly enforce Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). Local data remains protected within Android's isolated application sandbox.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in app functionality or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
